Let's go for a ride...
This is a second leap onto the internet for me. 15 years ago, I created All The Motor Vehicles I have Ever Owned. This sort of said what it did on the tin, with some occasional variations.
I kept it up for few years, getting a few hundred hits a month on it, and then it sort of petered out, with very occasional updates.
Recently I revisited the old thing and found that for some reason, it was getting upwards of 1,000 visitors a month. Not exactly earth-shattering, and of interest only to me, but very occasionally, there would be 500 visitors a day, which was baffling. They came from the USA mainly, but also from Brazil, and Hong Kong and other places. I have no idea why. Perhaps the content was being scraped - someone in Spain just lifted the whole site, translated it into Spanish and republished it.
People seem to have a strange interest in my holiday on Shetland, according to the stats.
.
I'm a journalist, and have been since 2001, and I've been a classic motorcycle writer since 2016, with most of my work published in Classic Bike Guide and Real Classic.
As time has moved on, I've been thinking, why don't I use the wealth of information about Motorcycling that I deal with day in, day out, and create my own presence, I think it's called. And, for now, this will be it.
I'll have a proper all-singing-all-dancing website soon, so this is mostly a holding page, but everyone has to start somewhere.
There will be news, and products, and the odd feature, and some of my articles from Real Classic. There probably won't be a lot of advertising.
If you are in the world of Motorcycling, why not send me stuff, and I'll put it up.
Stay lucky, upright and watch out for gravel on the apex.
